Enderby Entertainment: Case Study

I joined Enderby Entertainment at the tail end of 2020 on a contract to launch new offices in Canada.

Office rendering animation I made in Blender.

During my time there:

  • VFX and Post Supervised the Anthony Hopkins sci-fi thriller “Zero Contact” and the Netflix series “North Sea Connection”.
  • Developed virtual production and ICVFX volumes using Unreal Engine. Using UE4 and biz-dev experience, created virtual reality demo content for pitching the TV series “Blue Streak” by Oscar-nominated writer Dan Petrie Jr.
  • Planned, executed, and operated the expansion of production, post-production, and visual effects facilities from offices in Los Angeles to Canada.
  • Designed and built the systems, infrastructure, and pipelines for servicing film, television, commercial editorial, color, visual effects, and finishing, allowing Enderby to service all its own productions for significant post savings.
  • Demonstrated the services and technical abilities in production, mocap, post, VFX, ICVFX, and VR, directly engaging with external clients and industry professionals, servicing their projects to generate additional revenue.
  • Managed the post facilities and projects on a day-to-day basis, managing schedules, workflows, tracking information, and delivery of all A/V marketing materials for worldwide theatrical titles.
  • Overhauled Enderby’s branding, website, internal and external pitch, marketing, and sales materials, as well as internal communication systems, created and launched the corporate intranet, and put systems in place for enhanced cyber security.
  • Designed unique modular post booth spaces that could be assembled/disassembled as needed.
  • Planned and implemented all technology and software needed to operate a facility both local and remote.
  • Made relationships with local tech schools and colleges and recruited, mentored, and trained new team members.

Canadian Objective

Find and open new space. Build out post-production and VFX facility to an operational state.

  • Planned and installed all systems and technology for operating a post-production and visual effects studio.
    • 10GBE Network
    • Ubiquity Network solution with mesh wifi
    • Onsite and remote systems
    • 500TB Storage solutions with redundancy, full backup ups onsite and in the cloud.
  • Designed the office space and custom booths for color and finishing. Design was done by me Blender and the booth was manufactured locally.

Within the design for the office was my concept for modular none permanent finishing booths for grading and sound mixing.

Brand Vision

Beyond expansion into Canada, I created the Enderby brand vision and created a document to express the vision for the organization. From this, I created new sales, website, capabilities, proposal, and project materials for company-wide use.

Website

I rebuilt the online presence by creating a dynamic site featuring HTML 5 animation and video.

The previous Enderby site was largely unfinished.

The new website can be seen at http://enderbyentertainment.com

Capabilities

Enderby acquired my post production and VFX company located in Los Angeles and thus expanded its services to include post. I created capabilities documents in Adobe Indesign and Affinity Publisher.
