10 things you don’t know about Enter the Freeman

  1. The Security Guard in the short is not Barney. His badge says Evan William Walsh.
  2. We made the HEV suit out of foam. You can see a post about that here.
  3. The head crab was made by the legendary Steve Wang.
  4. The budget was in the $3000-$4000 range. That was out of pocket for costumes, equipment, makeup, food, etc
  5. We had a very small crew. Most of the actors doubled as crew when they weren’t shooting.
  6. The doctor character is actually the writer of the script.
  7. Gordon Freeman is played by Bernhard Forcher. He pretty much embodies the real Gordon Freeman in my opinion.
  8. I used a Nikon D7000 to shoot it, Premeire to edit, AE for effects. I used VideoCopilot plugins for the credits and flares.
  9. Gordon is wearing the wrong HEV suit because we had limited resources in the budget.
  10. The HECU soldiers are Michael Wallace (who played Evan the security guard) and our friend and crew member Tyler coats.

  1. When you say in #9 that Gordon (Bernhard Forcher) had the wrong HEV suit, what do you mean? Like using this one, the HL2 version, over the HL1 that would be period correct during the Black Mesa outbreak?

    Thanks!
